Tom Beckett General Nice view of an often overlooked part of railroading. For years, I neglected the legions of MU trains in the NY area-LIRR, NYC/NH/Metro North, NJT, though I did get some DLW MU's before they were gone-mostly because they seemed like glorified subway trains-something I also wish I'd taken more photos of. These cars do the yeoman's work of getting people to and from work, and anywhere else they need to go every day, largely unremarked and unheralded, and deserve more railfan attention.
